These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SocialImpactMap (the "Platform"), including our website and mobile applications, operated by [Operator name], [address], contact [contact email] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
SocialImpactMap is a directory that displays businesses that support social or charitable causes on a map so that visitors can discover them. Business owners ("Business Users") can create a listing, provide proof of their social impact, and—subject to a subscription—have their business shown on the map. Visitors can browse listings near a location. We are a neutral platform; a listing is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee by us of any business or its activities.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account. You must provide accurate information, verify your email address, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Each account may register one business. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
You retain ownership of the content you submit (business details, logo, website, descriptions, and certificates or other proof of social impact). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform. You represent that you own or have the rights to the content you submit, that it is accurate and not misleading, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or any law.
Listings are reviewed before they appear on the map. We may approve, reject, request changes to, edit the social-impact summary of, suspend, or remove any listing at our reasonable discretion—for example where the submitted proof is insufficient, inaccurate, or where content breaches these Terms. Approval does not constitute verification of the truth of your claims, and we do not guarantee that any listing will be approved or remain published.
Showing a business on the map requires a paid subscription. Plans, prices, billing periods, and any introductory pricing are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. You can cancel at any time through the customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and your listing is hidden once the subscription is no longer active. Prices may include or exclude applicable taxes as indicated at checkout. We may change prices on a prospective basis with notice before your next renewal.
Except where required by law (including any statutory withdrawal rights you may have as a consumer in the EU), payments are non-refundable. If you delete your account, any active subscriptions are cancelled.
You agree not to: submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information; upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful; impersonate others; misuse, scrape, or overload the Platform; attempt to gain unauthorised access; or use the Platform other than as intended. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.
The Platform, including its design, software, text, and trademarks (excluding user content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Platform without our permission.
The Platform relies on third-party services including Stripe (payments) and Google Maps Platform (maps, geocoding, and places). Your use of map features is also subject to Google's terms. Listings may link to third-party websites; we are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of those sites.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, distance, location, or social-impact claim is accurate. You deal with listed businesses at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence or for injury to life, body, or health. Where our liability is limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of the content you submit or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where required by law. On termination, your listing is removed and active subscriptions are cancelled.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "last updated" date and, where required, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
